Eneon has been awarded the contract to design, integrate, and commission a 5MW/20MWh battery energy storage system for the public utility in Staten Island, NY. The project completion is scheduled for September 2022.
Project Scope: Design, Procurement, Integration, Commissioning
Eneon has been awarded the contract to design, integrate, and commission a 5MW/20MWh battery energy storage system for the public utility in Staten Island, NY. The BESS is a standalone system that will be utilized for peak shaving and energy arbitrage with the Eneon. Staten Island falls under the jurisdiction of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) which has implemented some of the strictest safety regulation around battery energy storage in the world. Eneon is pleased to be providing a fully FDNY compliant battery energy storage system for this application. This system will consist of four BESS enclosures rated at 5.697MWh each.
Once installed, the battery energy storage system will provide peak shaving abilities to a local manufacturing facility.
